Notice is hereby given that the 12^th Annual General Meeting of the Sarawak Veterinary Association will be postponed as per following details due to insufficient quorum:

Date:               21^st  May ,2011 (Saturday)

Venue:           Conference Room, Level 3, Veterinary Heaquarters, Semenggok, Kuching

Time:              2.00 pm - 5 pm

The proposed agenda is as follow:

1.    Address by the President

2.    Briefing by Dr. Redzuan Ibrahim (Department of Veterinary Services) on amendment of Veterinary Surgeon Act

3.    Confirmation of the Minutes of the 11th AGM held on the 21.02.2010 at  the Veterinary Headquarters,Conference Room, Semenggok,  Kuching

4.    Matters arising there from

5.    Adoption of Annual Report 2010-2011

6.    Adoption of Treasurer’s report and audited account of the association 2010-2011

7.    Election of the Executive Committee

8.    Election of Honorary Auditors

9.    Any Other Matters

10. Adjournment of Meeting

All members are kindly reminded to submit the student incentive award form to the secretary. Please attach a photograph of your child/children and certified true copies of the examination results (UPSR, PMR, SPM, STPM) with the completed form to the secretary before the 13.05.2011. Outstation members may e-mail or fax the completed form and result to the secretary at 082-613460 or andrelll@live.com.my  The award will be handed out during the fraternity dinner at the Veterinary Headquarters, Jalan Semonggok on the AGM night at 7 pm.

According to the Rule16(3) and Rule 25(2) any member who wish to submit item to be included in the agenda of the AGM and/or proposals to amend the constitution of the rules of the association are required to submit such items and proposals in writing to the Secretary 21 days before the AGM

Please kindly fax your attendance form to Dr. Andrea Lim Li Li at 082-613460 immediately upon receiving this letter.

Payment of outstanding membership fees(RM 25 per year or RM 500 life member) can be by cash or cheque made to Sarawak Veterinary Association. Payment can also be bank in through any RHB bank to the Sarawak Veterinary Association Account :

Postponement of the 12th AGM on 8 May to 21 May 2011

Dear All SVA Member,

Regret to inform you, due to not enough quorum where we need atleast 25 member attending, the SVA EXCO meeting held recently had decided to postpone the AGM to 21 May 2011 (Sat) from 2pm to 5pm at Semongok Vet Office HQ, Jalan Semonggok, Kuching, Sarawak. Fraternity nite cum Veterinary  gathering will be held also on 21 May 2011 (Sat) that night from 7pm to 11pm at the same venue (Semonggok Vet Office HQ). All are invited.

Nipah in Bangladesh

Nipah encephalitis claimed 2 more lives at Rangpur Medical College
Hospital (RMCH) yesterday [14 Feb 2011] raising the death toll to 33.
One 8-year-old boy died at about 2:30 am while another, age 4, of
Banshbari village in Lalmonirhat Sadar upazila, [died] around 10:00
am, said RMCH Director Arifur Rahman. They were admitted to the
hospital with high fever on Saturday [12 Feb 2011].

Since 31 Jan [2011], Nipah claimed the lives in 7 districts --
Rangpur, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, Nilphamari, Gaibandha, Dinajpur and
Kushtia.
